Shamanic Breathwork Intensive Sept, 10-16

Dear friends,

I am very excited about the upcoming Shamanic Breathwork™ Intensive workshop led by Linda Star Wolf and Brad Collins. They are the founders of the Venus Rising Institute for Shamanic Healing Arts. Many of you may have heard of Star Wolf’s work. She is a well known author; her latest book is Shamanic Breathwork; Journeying beyond the Limits of the Self. She and Brad have an extensive background in various breath work modalities, therapeutic processes as well as Shamanic healing practices. The Shamanic Breathwork™ Intensive is a powerful technique for healing and transformation.

I have used a variety of breath work practices over the years and found the Shamanic Breathwork™ to be a unique approach. I personally had an amazing experience when I attended their one-day event here on June 24th. My experience was so powerful that I decided I wanted to be trained in facilitating this process for others. I spoke with Brad and Star Wolf after that event and asked them if they would return here and teach the Intensive. I was delighted when they agreed, as the developers of this process they are exceptional teachers and guides.

This event is something you won’t want to miss. Please look at Star Wolf and Brad’s website to learn more about the training, https://shamanicbreathwork.org/index.php . The workshop is from September 10th through the 16th and will be held at the Sanctuary at Sedona. The link to the flyer is attached below with the details. You can come to the workshop for solely for your own healing experience and/or you can come with the intent to become a certified Shamanic Breathwork facilitator.

The Sanctuary is an ideal place to experience deep transformation. It is a powerful place to reconnect with mother earth and Spirit. There will be meals loaded with pure life force energy cooked by vegetarian chefs with ingredients from the garden. There are limited rooms and other sleeping accommodations available for those who would like to stay at The Sanctuary.

Please register as soon as possible to reserve your space in the workshop.

Tantra Tip of the Day- Practice Connected Breathing

Connected breathing begins by being present with your breath. Allow your breath to naturally deepen and find its own relaxed pace. As you relax and watch the breath the mind tends to relax. As the mind and body relax, the breath allows you to access emotions and stuck energy you have been holding onto. If emotions arise just be present with them, without thinking about them. Instead, breathe the emotions through the body and watch them transform.

If you notice tension in the body, breathe into the tension and send love into that area of the body. Notice the contraction begin to soften. If thoughts arise let them be as clouds in the sky. Watch them morph and change without becoming attached to them. Always stay connected to the breath, if you get lost for a moment or minutes just return to the breath.

Connected breathing can also be done with a partner in a variety of positions. Here are a few- sit facing each other while you eye gaze and breathe together. Lay face-to-face, in the scissors position, eye gaze and breathe together or try lying in the spooning position with eyes closed as you snuggle and breathe together.

Doing connected breathing helps you to develop presence and equanimity as you let go of thoughts and feelings. It helps you to increase energy, decrease stress, feel more connected, let go of fears and develop more compassion for yourself and others.

Tantra Tip of the Day – Midwives, Birth and Tantra

Today, May 5th, is International Midwives Day. Many of you may not know it but I have been a certified nurse-midwife since 1988. I have helped deliver almost 1800 babies over the past 21 years. I have to say that catching my 3 grandchildren who were all born at home was a highlight. Learn more about it at https://mana.org/IntMidDay.html

I was reminded of this fact this morning when I received this note on my Facebook Wall from my lovely Daughter-in-love:

It’s Midwives Day and I wanted to take this time to thank you for being present and supporting me during three of the most amazing times in my life–the birth of my beautiful children, and your grandchildren. I feel so blessed to have you in my life. I don’t know that I would even have known about homebirth without you, but thank goodness I did. My homebirths not only made me feel more powerful, but gave my children a great start into this world. Thank you for being a great mother-in-love and for helping so many mamas and babies.
Namaste,
Tara

Here was my reply:
Thank you Tara,
Being a midwife and attending births has been an important part of my life. Supporting women as they connect to their power and bring forth new life is a gift and an honor beyond words. I want to thank you for trusting yourself enough to birth at home and for allowing me to catch all 3 of my grandchildren as they entered the world. I can’t imagine my life without you or them in it.
OXOX,
Mimi ( My granddaughter, Abbey, gave me this moniker.)

One reason I felt called to teaching Tantra was to help women have easier births. I have even written a rough draft for a book about Tantra and childbirth. One day I will finish it.

Being at a birth is about being in the moment. The air is vibrant with “life force energy.” There is a smell to birth that is rich, earthy and powerful. The veil between this world and the Source is thin. Watching new life emerge from a women’s body is a miracle every time. Life is so very precious. Those who work around birth and death know this viscerally. I am honored to be a midwife and I appreciate every woman who allowed me to be a part of her birth.

Do you know the story of your birth? How can you give birth to this moment as fresh and unique? Notice what is being born into your life today.

The Full-Body Orgasm Class Dec.6th in Phoenix

Saturday I taught a one-day class in Phoenix on how to awaken the full-body orgasm. We had a great day. Everyone experienced ecstatic energy and learned how to open their inner flute and expand into bliss. This class is based on Margot Anand’s SkyDancing Tantra. I developed this one-day class for both new and experience people to have an opportunity to embody their orgasmic energy outside a sexual context. Every time I teach this class I am amazed at how powerful these tools are and how quickly people can open and take it to the next level. I was delighted to have a member of the Deida Connection attend this event.Bliss is always available us. However,  most of the time we are to busy to notice what is all around and through us. I feel very lucky to be teaching this work.
