Scent is an important component of pleasure, your olfactory nerves pick-up chemical messages from the air you breathe and conduct them quickly to the brain. Newborn babies, who are unable to see clearly, can recognize their mother by her smell. Smells are often associated with memories; a whiff of a particular food, perfume or place can immediately transport you into a moment from the past associated with that scent.
I remember several years ago visiting Illinois, where I grew up. I hadn’t been there in 30 years. It was late September and as I lay down on the ground a wave of euphoria swept over me, remembering the joy of playing in the autumn leaves as a child. The smell was completely different from autumn in northern California where I had been living for the past 20 years.
Pheromones can cause you to be attracted to or repealed by the fragrance a person gives off and may be an important factor in whom you choose to pick as a mate. Research has shown that a woman can smell a man’s sweaty T-shirt and determine if she will like him or not. Smell is often dramatically increased in pregnancy, possibly to enhance the mother’s ability to smell danger and keep herself and her unborn child safe. Your sense of smell is a great gift yet one often taken for granted.
Try this: Let your nose be your guide today. Notice what smells are pleasant and which are unpleasant. How does smell affect your awareness? Do you like the smell of your body? Do you enjoy the smell of your lover? What are your favorite smells? Which smells do you avoid? How do use scent to enhance pleasure?

We live in a culture where most people are deprived of touch. People drive around alone in their cars and many live alone. At work there is a fear that touching someone will be considered sexual harassment. At school the concern is that touching a child may be seen as inappropriate. Yet what most people crave is human touch. We want to cuddle up and connect with other human beings. We want to give and receive love through our biggest organ, our skin. Touch is an important human need without it, babies will die, children act out and adults go crazy.
Today is a day to give and receive touch. Ask for a hug from a friend. Give a hug to a complete stranger; remember to ask for permission first. Snuggle up with someone and just BE together. Get and/or give a massage. Take a bubble bath. Be your own lover, touch your entire body and love it just as it is then self-pleasure slowly, with no goal in mind.
Try this: Spoon with a friend/ lover. The person behind places their hand on each chakra; root, belly, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, crown then breathe into it together, do this from root to crown, then switch roles. Notice what happens, Share your experience.
Last night I had the great fortune to attend a sound healing experience. I was surrounded by sounds of wind, water, fire and earth through a variety of instruments. I found myself being taken on a journey into the center of my being that is silent, still and limitless.
Sound is a powerful tool for being present, focusing attention, lulling you asleep, calming the nerves and enlivening the body. Music is a great gift that can heal and transform.
Today notice the sounds of your life. How do they affect you? Are they healing? Give yourself a sound healing break today; listen to some music that nourishes your body and soul. Let this music heal and transform whatever is no longer serving you. Let sound be your touch stone today.

The 3 Secrets to Being a Juicy Woman
1.) Be your own best lover and beloved. Self Pleasure at least 3 times a week; take your time – make love to yourself the way you would like your lover to make love to you. Relax in the bath and as you touch your body give each part a blessing. Appreciate your body and all that it does for you.
2.) Expand your awareness through your senses. Take 1- 2 minutes out of every hour and focus on a different sense as you let it expand. Let the wind caress your face. Smell the scent of rain, food or even garbage. Look at the world with curiosity as if you just landed on this planet for the first time. Listen to the sounds of the city or of nature. Touch the surface of your desk, chair, or a tree and image it is your lover’s body- then explore it with awe and reverence. Chew your food slowly, savoring each bite, as you might if you knew it was your last time to eat this particular dish.
3.) Offer gratitude for the miracle of life. See the world with new eyes. Imagine all buildings are temples, all people are divine beings and all sounds are mantras. Notice beauty in small unexpected places. Make an offering to the earth for nourishing you. Love life just as it is.
