Practice the Art of Chakra Talk

Chakra Talk

This practice allows you to access the wisdom held in your chakra energy centers. You will lend your voice to the chakra center you want to communicate with it in a direct way. The more you are able to relax and surrender the easier it is to access the wisdom of your chakras speaking  in their unique voice.

Set aside 30-60 minutes for this practice. Make sure the phone is off and that you won’t be disturbed. This can be done alone or with a partner. If done alone have your journal nearby so you can take notes. You may also choose to record the experience. If done with a partner, only one person speaks and the other acts as a witness. They may take notes if that feels appropriate to both parties. The witness should not interrupt the speaker while the chakra is talking.

Begin with a Heart Salutation. Sit across from your partner and look into their eyes. Maintaining eye contact throughout the rest of the process, begin by extending your arms towards the earth, palms together. Then, inhale and keeping your hands in prayer position, bring them to your heart. Exhale, as you bow forward and acknowledge the Divine in each other with the Sanskrit salutation “Namaste.” Namaste means “I honor the Divine in you as a reflection of the Divine in me.” Inhale, as you straighten back up. Finally, exhale as you allow your hands to return to the starting position, pointed towards the earth.

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Now,  direct your attention to the chakra you are going to listen to. Take slow, gentle, relaxing breaths into your belly. Relax deeply for about several minutes. As your exhale, breathe out any tension you are holding. As you inhale, breathe in life force energy (pnana/chi/ki) and feel your body being energized.

When you are relaxed, focus your attention on the chakra you feel called to connect with. Place your hands over the area related to that particular chakra. Breathe into it and begin to tune into the energy of this chakra. Invite it to speak through you, say (the name of the chakra,) Example- “Heart, I desire to receive your wisdom and invite you to speak to me through my voice.”

Then allow the chakra to speak to you, in the first person, “I, Heart, want to share that I have been feeling ignored lately. Crystal has been… I would like…. It would be helpful if…” Continue to tune in for 5-10 minutes or longer. There may be pauses as the information is accessed. Stay present with the process until it feels complete.

End with a Heart Salutation.

Breathe Sedona a Huge Success!

Friday, September 16th, was a special day in Sedona. Over 50 people came to the Sedona Creative Life Center and experienced a free day of Shamanic Breathwork TM facilitated by Linda Star Wolf and Brad Collins, founders of the Venus Rising Association for Transformation. They were assisted by a team of Certified Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators and Shamanic Ministers who have been studying with them for the past year.

Star Wolf began the day with an inspiring talk about the importance of stepping into our power and transforming ourselves by connecting to our future-selves. Her new book called, Visionary Shamanism will be released in November and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. She then shared an overview of the day- which consisted of Shamanic Breathwork in the morning, followed by the Shakti Art Process. Then a healthy lunch donated by Pita Fresh, Dahl and DiLucca and Simply Dahlicious Catering.

We gathered in the afternoon and honored the sponsors of the event: John of God Casa, Peace Place Reiki Center, John Livingston, Kristin McGary, Inner Space, Nutrition with Jane, Christine Ryan-Schmierer, Sedona Intuitive Astrology, W. Interiors and Your Heart’s Home Retreat.

We then proceeded with the afternoon SBW followed by the Shakti Art Process. After completing the second round we broke into 12 small process groups. Each group was led by an experienced facilitator who supported each person as they shared their SBW experience and art with the group.

Before closing we came together in as a large group and people shared. They described their process as powerful, healing, transformational, life-changing, safe, loving and awesome. There were several comments about how much gratitude people felt for this free event and for all who made it possible.

The planning committee, who are all Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators, were acknowledged for their hard work. They include: Crystal Dawn Morris,John Livingston, Meredith Davis, John Berry Deakyne, Tracy Roman, Dean Taraborelli and Kelley Alexander.

We ended the day by holding hands and singing a song. What a wonderful day of healing and celebration!

July is Self-Love Month

Here are the 5 points of the Self-Love Star.

1. SELF-WORTH– Fill your own cup first. When you have a full cup you can be generous with others. Ask: Do I value my needs? Do I prioritize “me” time?

2. SELF-NURTURING– Nourish yourself. Ask: How do I love myself today?

3. SELF-EMPATHY– Have compassion for yourself. Feel and express your emotions. Trust your intuition.

4. SELF-EXPRESSION -What bold thing would you share with the world if the fear of judgment or rejection wasn’t holding you back?

5. SELF-ACCEPTANCE– Forgive yourself. Accept that you are doing the best you can with the resources you have?

Give yourself a Gold Star everyday!

Tantra Tip of the Day- Healing the Emotional Body

Healing the emotional body is essential if you are going to live in the present moment with an open heart. Our culture generally judges the “negative emotions,” like anger, fear, sadness and grief. These emotions don’t look pretty and make other people feel uncomfortable. Because we receive this message as children we tend to suppress or deny these emotions by sweeping them under the rug. Our hope is that they will go away, instead, they become unconscious. They live outside our awareness and often run our lives. When we are triggered, out of no where they suddenly overwhelm us; we lash out in anger, withdraw in fear, become depressed, get sick or create a drama. Does this sound familiar?

Learning how to express and release your emotions allows you to heal your emotional baggage, become emotionally aware and stay emotionally current. It is important to begin by stating your intention is for your optimal healing and integration at the soul level and that in the process of this expression you will not hurt yourself, or anyone or anything else. Seven ways of expressing and releasing your emotions include; screaming silently into our hand, power stomping, pillow screaming, pillow hitting, pelvic thrusting, ritual wailing and tantrum-ing. There is also a practice called “Aspecting” which allows you to dialog with the person, situation or internal process you are releasing so you can clear and understand both aspects of the situation. Read more about these tools in Sacred Sexual Healing- The Shaman Method of Sex Magic by Baba Dez Nichols and Kamamla Devi.

Staying Emotionally Current

The beauty of this work is that it allows you to heal the past and reclaim your power. Emotions are life force energy. When they are denied you feel numb, depleted and/or disconnected. As you learn how to process your feelings you begin to feel more alive, aware, and present. By healing the emotional body you reclaim your birthrite as an ecstatic being. By using these tools you can let go of the past and become emotionally current. You process emotions as they arise. In order to be an effective sexual healer you need to heal your own emotional wounds and you need to be comfortable helping others traverse their emotional terrain.
