Opening the Inner Flute

The ‘Inner Flute,” is the SkyDancing Tantra™  term, for what you may know as the Central Channel or Sushumna. The purpose of this practice is to access and expand awareness of the life-force energy that moves naturally through the body. This practice supports you in being present, having a relaxed body-mind and an open heart. Another benefit is that it helps to amplify and redistribute sexual energy throughout the whole body. This practice is based on the teachings of SkyDancing Tantra™.

The Three Keys of Tantra

1. Breath

2. Sound

3. Movement

We are born knowing Tantra! The three keys are natural and fundamental to the human condition. The first independent act we take at birth is to breathe. After our first breath, we cry (sound) which expands the lungs. These two important acts are crucial for infants to make the shift from living in their mother’s womb to being able to live and breathe on their own. Next, the infant begins to move its arms and legs and explore the space around him/her.

The following practices can be done either standing with legs hip-width apart and knees slightly bent or lying comfortably on your back with the knees bent and feet flat on the floor. I recommend trying it both ways.

The Sipping Breath and “AHHH” Sound

The Sipping Breath amplifies awareness of the inhalation and allows you to draw the air deep into the abdomen. This type of breathing increases the amount of oxygen circulating in the body, which increases the sense of vitality and pleasure we can feel.

1. Begin by puckering your lips as if you are sipping through a straw. Leave a slight gap between the lips and inhale deeply through the mouth, allowing your abdomen to expand fully.

2. Then, relax the mouth and let the air flow out effortlessly, while making the sound “AHHH.”

The Pelvic Rock

Next, we add the external movement, called the Pelvic Rock. This practice opens the sacrum and helps to activate the sexual energy stored in the pelvic bowl.

1. In this practice, you will be focusing on moving the pelvis, by rotating it forward and backward. As you inhale, arch the lower back as the buttocks will stick out slightly. As you exhale, tuck the tailbone under, flattening the lower back. As the pelvis rotates, the whole spinal column is naturally engaged. This causes the head to fall back slightly (as you arch the back) and fall forward slightly (as you round the back).

2. Once you have this movement established you can add the Sipping Breath. Inhale through your pelvic floor, drawing energy up the Inner Flute (the energetic channel that runs from your pelvic floor to the crown of your head,) as you arch the lower back.

3. Exhale with an “Ahhh,” drawing energy down the Inner Flute and out through your pelvic floor. Go at a rate that feels right for you. You may begin to notice an increased awareness of your sexual/life force energy.

4. As you feel ready, try quickening the pace. Relax and enjoy the sensations that arise.

The PC Pump

Next, we add the internal movement, called the PC Pump or Kegel Exercise. This practice strengthens and tones the pelvic floor/PC (pubococcygeus) muscles. Becoming more aware of how to consciously engage these muscles will allow you to more effectively channel your sexual energy. This practice supports both men and women in having multiple full-body orgasms. It can help men to develop the ability to choose when, and if, they ejaculate.

1. Begin by bringing the focus of attention to the pelvic floor. Squeeze the PC muscles, as if you were stopping the flow of urine. See if you can isolate the various muscles around the urethra and anus.

2. Allow your arms to rest at your sides. As you inhale, contract your PC muscles. At the same time, squeeze your hands into fists as a reminder to do this PC contraction.

3. As you exhale, relax your hands and your PC muscles. Do this several times until it feels natural.

4. Next, add the Sipping Breath on the inhale and “Ahhh” on the exhale.

5. Once that is established, add the Pelvic Rock. On the inhale, sip in the breath as you arch the back and squeeze the PC and fists. On the exhale, make the “Ahhh” sound as you flatten the lower back and relax the PC and hands.

6. Once that is established, continue all the steps and, on the inhale, visualize energy moving up the Inner Flute from the pelvic floor toward the crown. On the exhale, visualize the energy moving back down the Inner Flute to the pelvic floor.

7. As you do this practice, you will become aware of increased energy and vitality circulating throughout the body.

Opening the Inner Flute increases awareness, vitality and, when done regularly, supports you in experiencing increased orgasmic energy- both inside and outside the sexual context!

Breathe Sedona a Huge Success!

Friday, September 16th, was a special day in Sedona. Over 50 people came to the Sedona Creative Life Center and experienced a free day of Shamanic Breathwork TM facilitated by Linda Star Wolf and Brad Collins, founders of the Venus Rising Association for Transformation. They were assisted by a team of Certified Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators and Shamanic Ministers who have been studying with them for the past year.

Star Wolf began the day with an inspiring talk about the importance of stepping into our power and transforming ourselves by connecting to our future-selves. Her new book called, Visionary Shamanism will be released in November and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. She then shared an overview of the day- which consisted of Shamanic Breathwork in the morning, followed by the Shakti Art Process. Then a healthy lunch donated by Pita Fresh, Dahl and DiLucca and Simply Dahlicious Catering.

We gathered in the afternoon and honored the sponsors of the event: John of God Casa, Peace Place Reiki Center, John Livingston, Kristin McGary, Inner Space, Nutrition with Jane, Christine Ryan-Schmierer, Sedona Intuitive Astrology, W. Interiors and Your Heart’s Home Retreat.

We then proceeded with the afternoon SBW followed by the Shakti Art Process. After completing the second round we broke into 12 small process groups. Each group was led by an experienced facilitator who supported each person as they shared their SBW experience and art with the group.

Before closing we came together in as a large group and people shared. They described their process as powerful, healing, transformational, life-changing, safe, loving and awesome. There were several comments about how much gratitude people felt for this free event and for all who made it possible.

The planning committee, who are all Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators, were acknowledged for their hard work. They include: Crystal Dawn Morris,John Livingston, Meredith Davis, John Berry Deakyne, Tracy Roman, Dean Taraborelli and Kelley Alexander.

We ended the day by holding hands and singing a song. What a wonderful day of healing and celebration!

Human beings are naturally ecstatic, it is only through conditioning that we loose our ability the feel  Bliss daily. Tantra is a path that recognizes that sexual energy can open up the field of ecstasy and expand Awareness. It teaches people how to move their sexual energy, which is life force energy, from their genitals, up to the top of their head, and everywhere in between. This allows the entire physical and energetic body to become full of Bliss. When the sexual energy reaches the crown it can expand a person’s Awareness of the mystical realms, allowing them to recognize they are Consciousness in human form.

A full body orgasm is the experience of feeling your whole body vibrating with orgasmic energy. This can be done outside of a sexual context as well as while making love. Anyone can learn how to have a full body orgasm by following the steps below.

7  Steps for Opening the Inner Flute:

1) Stand with your knees hip width apart and slightly bent.

2) Breathe through your mouth and deep into the belly, allowing it to expand begin activating your sexual energy.

3) Once you have master the belly breath you can increase the intensity by inhaling as if you are sipping through straw. Exhale with an open mouth and release a deep sound from the belly. Sound also intensifies the expansion of energy.

4) Now, allow your pelvis to begin rocking. Keeping the knees bent, let your pelvis rotate freely. As you inhale rock the hips back, arching the small of the back. As you exhale, tuck the tail bone under, flattening the small of the back. Breath, sound and movement are the 3 Keys of Sky Dancing Tantra.

5) Next, add the PC pump. As you inhale squeeze the pelvic floor muscles pulling them upwards and as you exhale let them relax back down. It feels a bit like you are trying to stop and start a stream of urine. These are sometimes called Kegel exercises.

6) Put all the steps together. As you inhale imagine you are breathing the energy up from your root to your heart. Practice this until you feel the energy pulsing from your root to your heart. You can play with speeding up and slowing down your respiratory rate.

7) Once you have mastered connecting root and heart move the energy up to the crown. Practice until you can feel the energy flowing from your root to your crown. See yourself as a rainbow bridge of light connecting Earth and Sky. This is a wonderful way to get your energy flowing.

Once the’ Inner Flute” is open you are ready to feel erotic energy  throughout your physical and energetic bodies. This allows you to experience the  Full Body Orgasm both sexually and outside a sexual context.

3 Steps to the Ecstatic Response Process:

1) The “Streaming Reflex” helps you recognize that your body is made of ecstatic energy which you can stimulate and expand whenever you want to. You learn to experience orgasmic energy outside of a sexual context and discover that you can awaken your own pleasure body with out genital contact. The practice-You begin by standing with your feet hip width apart and knees bent. Allow your thighs to begin to vibrate side to side. Allow the vibration the spread up and down the body until your whole body is vibrating. It is helpful to do this with music, I recommend Osho’s Kundalini Meditation CD. It is also helpful to have

2) The “Ecstatic Response” is the process of being relaxed in high states of arousal. You learn to become a bigger container for ecstatic energy and to relax fully letting the energy naturally expand. The effect is one of sexual excitement and deep peace. When you master the ecstatic response you move beyond the genital orgasm and discover the full body orgasm. The practice- After several minutes of your whole body streaming lay down on the floor with your knees bent and your feet close together. Let your knees gently fall apart like a butterflies wings opening. Allow your body to relax fully and continue to open and close your knees. This process allows the ecstatic energy to spread throughout the body. This is best done listening to gentle, relaxing music.

3) Once you mastered Opening the Inner Flute and the Full Body Orgasm outside a sexual context you can introduce these practices into your love making and experience them within a sexual context. Sex becomes an alchemical experience that transforms the physical body into the Bliss Body.

Shamanic Breathwork TM beautifully enhances and augments the Core Shamanic Healing work I have been offering since 1995. It also is a great compliment the practice of SkyDancing Tantra. I am excited to be offering this powerful healing process in Sedona. I also plan to offer it around the United states and Canada in the near future. Shamanic Breathwork™ is a powerful healing process that reconnects participants with their own inner Shaman healer. Old wounds and dysfunctional patterns are released and transformed, individuals begin to reclaim lost soul parts and remember their true nature. They reclaim their wholeness as they heal themselves, their loved ones and the world at large from a quantum perspective.

This experiential process is guided by the wisdom of each individual’s Inner Shamanic Healer. Each person’s breath-journey is a unique and highly individual. People report shifts in consciousness ranging from states of bliss to releasing negativity and blocks from their psyche. An experience of being reborn is a common occurrence, as well as a life review. Old patterns of dysfunction may be brought to the surface and healed. Feelings such as grief, fear, rage and anxiety are often released. New insights and solutions to life challenges may occur.

As the Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator I hold a loving and supportive space and may offer healing support in the form of bodywork, energy work and Shamanic healing.

After the journey participants have an opportunity to express their experience through the “Shakti Art Process.” Which involves creating a mandala or other piece of visual art to capture the essence of their experience on paper. They also may journal about their experience and also process it verbally.

10 Keys for Awakening Bliss

Ten Keys for Awakening Bliss

1) Honor your body as a Temple and treat it with love and respect.

2) Breathe deeply with awareness; this detoxifies the body, supports your immune system and calms the mind.

3) Do a daily movement practice such as; dance, yoga, walking, qigong or other aerobic exercise, this increases vitality, releases endorphins and connects the body with the breath.

4) Live in the Now, shift your awareness away from past and future.  This supports you in being more conscious, connected and in the flow. Every moment is an opportunity to show up and be present.

5) Spend time in prayer or meditation. Discover the “Emptiness Within” as your true nature.

6) Experience pleasure daily by allowing your senses to become finely tuned and savor the beauty around you.

7) Offer gratitude for the wonders and miracles in your life. Recognize that you are a co-creator of your life experience.

8) Eye gaze with your beloved and breath together. If you are single or alone this can be done in front of a mirror as you honor the beloved within. This practice was used by Rumi and many others to become enlightened.

9) Celebrate life, make love or self-pleasure often, practice compassion and welcome what is arising.

10) Commit to creating an ecstatic life and share this gift to others.

Shamanic Breathwork Intensive Sept, 10-16

Dear friends,

I am very excited about the upcoming Shamanic Breathwork™ Intensive workshop led by Linda Star Wolf and Brad Collins. They are the founders of the Venus Rising Institute for Shamanic Healing Arts. Many of you may have heard of Star Wolf’s work. She is a well known author; her latest book is Shamanic Breathwork; Journeying beyond the Limits of the Self. She and Brad have an extensive background in various breath work modalities, therapeutic processes as well as Shamanic healing practices. The Shamanic Breathwork™ Intensive is a powerful technique for healing and transformation.

I have used a variety of breath work practices over the years and found the Shamanic Breathwork™ to be a unique approach. I personally had an amazing experience when I attended their one-day event here on June 24th. My experience was so powerful that I decided I wanted to be trained in facilitating this process for others. I spoke with Brad and Star Wolf after that event and asked them if they would return here and teach the Intensive. I was delighted when they agreed, as the developers of this process they are exceptional teachers and guides.

This event is something you won’t want to miss. Please look at Star Wolf and Brad’s website to learn more about the training, https://shamanicbreathwork.org/index.php . The workshop is from September 10th through the 16th and will be held at the Sanctuary at Sedona. The link to the flyer is attached below with the details. Tantra Tip of the Day – Conscious Breathing

An important aspect of Tantra is the practice of presence. A gentle way to begin being more present is to allow yourself to notice your breath several times a day. Instead of “doing” a formal practice, you just become aware of the breath, as it is, for 10-20 seconds and then go back to your usual state of awareness.

Let this awareness of your breath to happen several times a day. Begin by noticing it 4 times a day and then gradually increase it to 4 times an hour. As you become aware of the breath you will notice it naturally becomes more calm and deep. This practice comes from Danial Odier’s, Desire the Tantric Path to Awakening. In it he recommends several types of short practices, he calls micro-practices. He suggests they are a natural way to begin bringing Tantra into daily life, rather than trying to force a longer practice, such as a prolonged sitting mediation. I have found that these micro-practices are very helpful in bringing increased awareness into every aspect of my life.
