7 Benefits of Erotic Massage

Erotic massage is a wonderful way to relax, connect and explore pleasure with a lover or intimate friend. On the path of Tantra, we enjoy coming together to honor and celebrate the body as a temple of delight. This experience will allow you to explore erotic energy in new ways and is also a wonderful prelude to lovemaking.

7  Benefits of Erotic Massage are:

1) It awakens the senses and activates whole-body healing.

2) It allows you to explore pleasure in new and creative ways.

3) It uses eye contact, connected breathing and touch to enhance intimacy.

4) It creates conscious connection between the giver and the receiver.

5) It uses breath, sound and movement to awaken the full-body orgasm.

6) It melts away the illusion of separation and allows Oneness to emerge.

7) It is a wonderful prelude to orgasmic sex.

Preparation

Prepare a warm, quiet, comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed for the next 2 hours. Make sure all phones are turned off. Light some candles and put on some relaxing, romantic music.

The Heart Salutation

Begin with the Heart Salutation. It is an ancient tantric practice for acknowledging the Divine in each other as you enter into sacred time. Sit across from your partner and look into their eyes. Maintain eye contact throughout the rest of the process. Extend your arms towards the earth, palms together. Inhale and, keeping them together, bring your hands to your heart. Exhale, as you bow forward and acknowledge the Divine in each other. Inhale, as you straighten back up. Finally, exhale as you allow your hands to return to the starting position, pointed towards the earth.

The Bubble

The Bubble calls you into present moment awareness and creates a safe space in which to offer an erotic massage. Make a bubble around you and your partner with your arms so that it surrounds both of you. Remove things from the bubble that won’t serve this process (the past, distractions, anger, worry, etc.) Do this with a gesture, as if physically removing an object, while stating out-loud what you are removing. Next, bring things into your bubble that will enhance your connection (Love, willingness, Presence, trust etc.) Once again, use gestures and spoken words. Here is two examples:

“I release the past.”

” I call in passion.”

Share Your Desires, Fears and Boundaries

Once the bubble is created, share your desires, fears and boundaries related to giving and/or receiving an erotic massage. One person speaks while the other person listens, without judgment or commentary. Then, switch roles. Here is an example:

“My desire is to stay connect to erotic energy.”

“My fear is that I may fall asleep and you may feel hurt or disappointed.”

“My boundary is finish this practice by at 11 pm.”

Healthy Boundaries

People often think of boundaries as walls. Healthy boundaries are actually bridges that bring people together. Intimacy arises when healthy boundaries are honored. You feel safe, are open and present. Boundaries can change, so check-in periodically to see how you are feeling. If your boundary has changed, tell your partner. Please, don’t expect them to read your mind.

Giving an Erotic Massage

Decide who will give and who will receive. Invite the receiver to lay face-down on a massage table, bed or blanket on the floor. Make sure they are warm and comfortable. The giver then grounds him or herself and gently lays their hands on the receiver. Recognize this is a unique opportunity to honor and serve your beloved. Attune yourself to the receiver. One way to attune is by breathing with them for a few minutes.

Begin to awaken their skin by lightly stroking it with feathers, fur or the tips of your fingers. When you are ready, cover their body with warm oil. Use long, slow massage strokes. You are massaging more than the surface of their body. You are connecting to them on multiple levels. Encourage them to take deep breaths, make sounds and move their body. This allows the energy in the body to awaken, move and release. Use different parts of your body- your hair, arms and chest, to massage your partner. Be playful, curious and creative.

About half-way through the allotted time, invite the receiver to roll over. Massage the front of their body with warm oil, again using long strokes. Introduce sound in a new way by toning on their body, using sounds like, Ahh, Yumm or Omm. This can be a powerful tool for activating your partners energy-body.

When they are ready offer to explore their genitals. In SkyDancing Tantra we call the vagina, “Yoni,” which means “Cosmic Matrix” and the penis, “Vajra,” which means “Thunderbolt.” Begin on the outside of the genitals with oil. At first, be gentle and go slow. Allow them time to release any tension in the area. Listen to their body. Watch them respond and become aroused. Focus on what gives them pleasure. Try different strokes. Again, be creative. If you are going to do internal massage, use a water-based lubricant. How much pleasure can they allow? Are they open to exploring the possibility of multiple orgasms?

Close by spooning together and connecting your heart centers with love, compassion and gratitude. Help them to sit up and end with a Heart Salutation. Offer them water or juice to drink and a chocolate or piece of fruit to eat. You may want to share what this experience was like for you. How was it to give and/or receive in this way?

Enjoy!

Tantra Tip of the Day- Love Feeds the Soul

THE SOUL LIVES BY LOVING

MAN NEEDS TO BE NEEDED. It is one of the most fundamental needs of human beings. Unless one is cared for, one starts dying. Unless one feels that he is significant to somebody — at least to somebody — his whole life becomes insignificant. Hence, LOVE IS THE GREATEST THERAPY THERE IS. The world needs therapy because the world is missing love. IN A REALLY LOVING WORLD, NO THERAPY WILL BE NEEDED AT ALL; love will be enough, more than enough.

HUGGING IS ONLY A GESTURE OF LOVE, OF WARMTH, OF CARING. The very feel of the warmth flowing from the other person melts many illnesses in you, melts the ice-like cold ego. It makes you a child again. Psychologists are well aware of the fact now that unless a child is hugged, kissed, he misses some nourishment. JUST AS THE BODY NEEDS FOOD, THE SOUL NEEDS LOVE. You can give the child all the physical needs, all the physical comforts — but if hugging is missing, the
child will not grow into a wholesome being; he will remain somewhere deep down sad, uncared for, neglected, ignored. He was nursed, but he
was not mothered.

It has been observed that if a child is not hugged, he starts
shrinking, he can even die. Although everything else was provided for– as far as the body is concerned every care was taken – – but if no love surrounded the child, he becomes isolated, he becomes disconnected from existence. LOVE IS OUR CONNECTION, LOVE IS OUR VERY ROOT. Just as you breathe… for the body it is absolutely essential — stop breathing and you are no more — in the same way love is the inner breath. THE SOUL LIVES BY LOVING.

Analysis won’t do it, wit and clarity, knowledge and scholarship won’t do it. You can know all there is to know about therapy — you can become an expert — but if you don’t know the art of love, you remain
only on the surface of the miracle of therapy. The moment you start feeling for the patient, for the one who is suffering… OUT OF A HUNDRED CASES, NINETY PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN LOVED… If you start feeling the need for love of the patient, and if
you can fulfill the need, there will be an almost magical change in the condition of the patient.

LOVE IS CERTAINLY THE MOST THERAPEUTIC PHENOMENON!

HUGGING IS ONLY A GESTURE OF ONENESS. EVEN THE GESTURE HELPS! And if the hug is authentic and true — not just a gesture, but your heart is also in it — it can be a magical tool, it can be a miracle, it can transform the whole situation instantly. Hugging gives you an immediate contact with the child within. If you hug somebody with warmth, with love — if it is not just an impotent gesture — if it is meaningful, significant. .. If your heart is flowing through it,immediately you come in contact with the child, with the innocent child. And to contact that innocent child is therapeutic.

And the innocent child, surfacing even for a single moment, makes a tremendous difference — because the innocence of the child is always healthy and whole, uncorrupted. You have reached to the innermost core
of the person, where no corruption has ever entered. You have reached to the virgin core. AND JUST MAKING THE VIRGIN CORE THROB AGAIN WITH LIFE IS ENOUGH. You have started, you have triggered a process of healing.

Kundalini Massage with Crystal Dawn

Friday, Feb.19,2010
I had a great time teaching the Phoenix Tantra Meetup Group my Kundalini Massage. I created this practice with my friend Gaia at the request of Margot Anand for her advanced Love and Ecstasy Training. This powerful technique activates the chakras and awakens the life force energy that is stored at the base of the spine. The evening was very relaxing and enjoyable. After I demonstrated the practice on Sunil, everyone had a chance to both give and receive the Kundalini Massage. By the end of the night we were all blissed out.

Tantra Tip of the Day- Enhance Intimacy with Healing Touch

Tantra teaches that touch can be very powerful when used with the intent to heal and awaken another person. With an open mind and some practice anyone can learn how to give and receive Tantric healing touch. Learning how to give and receive touch with presence offers many benefits.

1) The body relaxes open and releases blocked energy.
2) It increases awareness and supports whole-body healing.
3) It awakens the senses, allowing ecstatic energy expand and flow.
4) It creates a conscious connection between the giver and the receiver.

Set aside some time to share healing touch with a friend or lover. Shut off the phones and make sure you won’t be disturbed for at least an hour or two. This kind of touch can be done clothed, partially clothed or nude, depending on your level of comfort. Create a comfortable place to practice. The area needs to be warm, clutter free, with soft lighting and relaxing music. You can work on a massage table, the floor or a bed.

Do a Heart Salutation. In Tantra we use the Sanskrit word, Namaste’ which means I honor the Divine in you, as a reflection of the Divine within me. Begin this practice by sitting across from your partner and looking into their eyes. Maintain eye contact throughout the process. Next, extend your arms towards the earth, palms together. Inhale and keeping your hands in prayer position, bring them to your heart. Exhale, as you bow forward and acknowledge the Divine in each other by saying, “Namaste.” Inhale, as you straighten back up. Finally, exhale as you allow your hands return to the starting position, pointed towards the earth.

Now, take a few minutes each to share your desires, fears and boundaries. A boundary is what you need to feel safe and stay open. Agree on the amount of time you are committed to sharing this experience. If you are both going to give and receive then divide the time equally. Decide who will give and who will receive first.

The receiver then lies down with the intention of surrendering into each moment and letting go. The giver holds the intention of being a conduit for healing, a “hollow bone” for the Divine to move through. Both of you let go of anything outside this very moment.

The giver begins by connecting to the energy body of the receiver. Very slowly, with your hands 6-10 inches above them scan their entire body. See what you notice. Encourage the receiver to breathe deeply into their belly and make sounds as they exhale. Let your breath begin to synchronize with theirs. As you scan the body notice areas that feel tight, cold, or lack energy. Also notice areas that may feel open, hot or flowing. Gently stroke the energy body until it begins to feel smooth and integrated.

When it feels right, slowly place your hands on their body and take some time “to be” with the body before you begin “doing” anything to it. Slowly, intuitively begin to touch them. Allow the session to emerge organically in the moment, not with your mind making a plan or having a goal. Listen to their feedback and follow their requests with your complete attention. At times you may ask for guidance. Where do they want to be touched? How do they want to be touched? If they don’t want to speak ask them to give you feedback only if something does not feel good.

It is important for the receiver to offer positive feedback often. By saying yes or making sounds, such as, ahhhh or hummm. This confirms you like what is unfolding. When giving verbal feedback use the sandwich technique. 1) Give an appreciation.2) Ask for the change. 3) Say thank you. Here is an example. “It feels so good to have my feet caressed. It would feel even better if you used a little more pressure. Thank you let feels great!

This is an opportunity to practice the art of devotion. Touch this person as if they are a God or Goddess. Really allow Love to flow out of your heart, through your hands and into them. Allow this practice to become a meditation, a melting into the One. End by spooning together. Take some time to share your experiences and then switch roles if that was the agreement.

Namaste’

Tantra Tip of the Day – Osho’s Tantra Vision

Osho was a 20th century Tantric master, sometimes called the spiritually incorrect mystic. In his book called The Tantra Vision, he shares these teachings about Tantra:

1) Tantra embraces everything as one.
2) Tantra accepts everything as an opportunity.
3) Tantra honors both masculine and feminine polarities.
4) Men and women have both masculine and feminine within them.
5) Tantra understands opposites are complimentary, not contradictory.
6) The union of masculine and feminine energies are a doorway to the Sacred.
7) Sexual union is a healing art that can awaken humans to their Divine Nature.

Do you honor sexuality as a sacred healing art? Spend time with your beloved creating a sacred sexual healing ritual. If you are single do a self pleasuring ritual and dedicate it to your own healing or planetary healing. Notice if you have resistance to these ideas and if so, explore what the resistance is. For information on how to do these rituals, see Margot Anand’s The Art of Sexual Ecstasy.

Tantra Tip of the Day – Honor Your Body Temple

In Bali each morning the temples are swept, incense is lit, offerings of fruit and flowers are presented and prayers are spoken. This is one way they practice honoring the Divine.

One of the gifts of being a human is having a physical body. Your body is the temple that houses your divine nature. How do you honor your “Body Temple?” What offerings do you give it each day? How much do you appreciate your body and all it does for you?

Try this: Today consider that your body is a sacred temple and treat it as such. Notice if you make different choices as you go through your day. At the end of your day take some time and honor your body in a way that feels good to you. As part of this honoring, touch each part of your body and offer gratitude and a blessing for all that it does for you, include the internal organs as well as the external body parts. Notice how it feels to connect with each part of your body and be present with it. Does seeing your body as a sacred temple change your relationship to it? How does your body want to be honored?
